A Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA) is a model that allows families to invest in a farm and have confidence that the farm is producing for its members for the season.
The farm operates one of the oldest CSAs in Western PA. CSA sales account for over 98% of the farm's revenue. That means the CSA is their sole focus! Edible Earth Farm is the most diversified farm in Western PA raising organic fruit, organic vegetables, organic herbs, organic wild edibles, organic aromatherapy products, medicinal herbs, spices, organic mushrooms, pasture-raised chickens, goats, beef and pigs, organic hay, organic jarred goods and dried food. When you choose a farm who has such a strong commitment to their program, you don't have to worry about the best product going to markets or to restaurants. At Edible Earth Farm, all the product goes to its CSA members.
Edible Earth Farm offers a 100% choice CSA experience, where members select all of their items.
A Regular Main Season CSA consists of $24.50 worth of weekly credits towards the purchase of items from the farm store. A Large Main Season CSA consists of $31.00 worth of weekly credits towards the purchase of items from the farm store. Buy as much as you want and pay at checkout for the difference.
The farm grows 200+ varieties of crops in an effort to provide our CSA members with a wide variety of product.
It depends. Members can create a pure organic delivery by only selecting items that are grown by Edible Earth Farm or organic farm partners. Our members value a diverse CSA experience and there are very few organic producers in Western PA; therefore, we also source from other local and regional growers who demonstrate good growing practices. This ensures a highly varied share with sufficient and long-term supply of things people love.... like sweet corn! :)
Main Season deliveries start the last week of June and run to the third week of October. Year-round members and members who join early will get access to pre-season deliveries, with no obligation to purchase.
Leaving town for a week? Heading on a family vacation? No problem! Simply log into your account and place your CSA delivery on hold. Then choose a future delivery to "double up" your share (receive double credits in one week). You can place your CSA on hold an unlimited number of times.
Edible Earth Farm's CSA members have access to an online farm store during the Main Season CSA where additional items can be purchased and delivered with their weekly CSA. Items include: pastured meat, cheese, honey, eggs, mushrooms, sourdough bread, bulk produce, fruit, canned goods and more.
The farm employs a dynamic pricing model that rewards early signups. Advance to the registration page to see current pricing.

This year is our first experience with a CSA and we are loving it so far. The quality of the produce has been excellent. We also love that we can buy coffee beans which are roasted to order, and the eggs we have been receiving are delicious.

The beautiful produce you delivered yesterday is traveling with us at my brother’s request. Last time he visited he ate your kale and proclaimed it magical. Lol. It’s really saying something as he rarely eats anything green. Thank you for growing our magical food!

This is my first year as a CSA member (small share) and I have LOVED it. I love the variety, the amount of food in the share, and being a part of your community. I am also looking forward to my winter share! Your newsletters have also been fantastic and I appreciate how open and honest you have been.
